Amblu Kai
Bed & Breakfast
ABOUT
This 1939 Queen Anne Victorian was
Redding's premier Bed & Breakfast for over 40 years!
She's under new ownership and has just had a makeover
including the decks and pool area.
They say that life is about the journey, not just the destination. Expect one-of-a-kind experiences that will make you never want to stay in another hotel.
Since Redding is centrally located in the heart of the great outdoors, the opportunity for recreation is vast and varied. We are surrounded on three sides by millions of acres of public land including Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Lassen Volcanic National Park, McArthur Burney Falls Memorial State Park, spectacular Mt. Shasta, and the pristine Trinity Alps.
Redding is the perfect base camp for exploring the hotbed of adventure travel in California! Redding is also home to the magnificent Sundial Bridge, the historical, renovated Cascade Theatre, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, and the Sacramento River National Recreation Trail.
Enjoy beautiful views of Mt. Lassen from this historic home.
Before the California Gold Rush settlers named it Mt. Lassen, local Native Americans called it AMBLU KAI meaning "Fire Mountain".
We know you’ll enjoy the character of this older home. In the Spring, the gardens are fragrant & colorful and the views of Mt. Lassen (Amblu Kai) are spectacular! During Redding's hot Summer you can enjoy the views from the bed swing on the deck as a cool breeze blows, cool down by taking a dip in the pool while enjoying the song birds in the poolside aviary or lounge by the pool with a good book to the sound of the waterfall in the koi pond. In the Fall, enjoy your tea or coffee from the pergola covered deck while you catch a sunrise over Mt. Lassen. If we are lucky enough the sunset will stretch out from the east and give us a show as well!
You’ll see why we call it our Open Heaven!
